Added value through energy management: As an innovative, regional energy supplier, Stadtwerke Pforzheim is always aiming to offer its end customers new innovations and services relating to the digitalised energy world. The latest addition to this offering is the energy management software from GreenPocket. The aim of this collaboration is the uncomplicated visualisation of RLM meters for Stadtwerke Pforzheim's business customers so that added value can be generated through the extensive analysis features. Following successful and smooth project planning, the software will be available to 80 customers in the first year.
The situation on the energy market has come to a head, particularly in the past year: supply uncertainties, high energy prices and the pressure to save energy for both energy suppliers and consumers - because this is not only relevant for climate protection reasons, but also for economic reasons. It was therefore clear to Stadtwerke Pforzheim, as an innovative energy supplier, that in addition to the power-measured meters that can be read remotely on an hourly basis (RLM), there was also a need for software that visualises energy consumption in order to offer corporate customers the opportunity to track and control their energy consumption. Stadtwerke Pforzheim's previous software solution had become outdated and could not cover all use cases. After an extensive comparison of providers, Stadtwerke Pforzheim therefore opted for the software from energy management software specialist GreenPocket last autumn.
Digital energy management for numerous use cases
The decision in favour of long-term cooperation with the software partner was made for several reasons: Thanks to the very broad range of features, business customers, who primarily come from the industrial sector, are offered numerous use cases that can lead to greater energy efficiency and cost savings. For example, the individual alarms support the constant monitoring of several systems or the display of the CO2 footprint in the fulfilment of reporting obligations. In addition to the dashboard, alarms and reports, business customers with a large number of properties have the option of creating, managing and analysing virtual measuring points, comparative key figures (e.g. m² or number of employees) and various locations. This is supplemented by flexible, cross-divisional analyses, such as target/actual comparisons or Sankey diagrams, as well as a formula editor. Data for sub-measurement technology can also be fed into the software - this is particularly relevant for SWP's customers when carrying out energy audits and avoiding peak loads.
"By integrating and visualising individual sub-metering technology, our industrial customers can not only monitor their performance and consumption values in real time and quickly save five-figure sums every year by avoiding peak loads. It also makes the entire production process transparent and optimisable in terms of energy consumption"
notes Marcel Clemen, customer advisor at SWP.
GreenPocket's many years of experience in the market and its project planning experience from more than 150 projects were also convincing, as the new software was to go live within 5 months in the best case scenario. This goal was achieved thanks to the energetic cooperation of both partners.
"We found the collaboration very pleasant and, above all, successful. Initially, we didn't expect to be able to go live so quickly, but the structured project management and constructive collaboration during the project planning phase paid off in the end"
explains Sandra Wiedemann, who works in business customer sales at SWP and acted as project manager for the joint project. Ultimately, intuitive operation was also a decisive factor: As many different companies and people need to use and understand the software, a user-friendly and simple interface is essential.
Flexible for the future together
Over the next three years, up to 600 RLM meters are to be visualised in the joint project. GreenPocket's white label software was completely customised to the CI of Stadtwerke Pforzheim for the many different customers. This means that all online services are presented to business customers from a single source.
"We are delighted that we were able to convince Stadtwerke Pforzheim of the benefits of our energy management software and that we will be working together on this exciting project for the next three years. The flexibility and scalability of our solution makes it possible for us to continue supporting SWP with all new requirements in the future."
says Dr Thomas Goette, CEO of GreenPocket.
"We are already seeing a high level of utilisation of our GreenPocket energy cockpit, both by our customers and internally, which is helping to increase efficiency. The possibilities are far from exhausted and we will certainly realise even more innovative applications together in the future."
adds Kerstin Eschler, Head of Business Customer Sales and Procurement.
